Wavewerry Public School is located 20 kilometres from a major city in Australia. It's a suburb with 22,000 residents and good amenities in the neighbourhood. It's a mid size school with 280 students from Year 1 to Year 6. The school management has 6 office administrators and 18 teachers, and the Parents and Citizens board (P&C).
The school organizes many events throughout the whole year. While most of the events are for the students, some do involve the local communities and in all circumstances the parents. In the past, the school's only means of communication are newsletters published weekly and letters writing. With the cost of running a school escalating, not to mention the shortage of human resources, the school is experiencing significant pressure to keep things running on time. Inevitably, the teachers not only have to teach but to take extra time to run "school projects", it's a tall order.

Using Ajax Workspace, the school management puts all the events for the year on Event Calendar. Interestingly, this simple exercise effectively shows that the school would never be able to accomplish all the activities given the time and resources they have. In retrospective, the school management decided to divide the school activities into core projects and supplementary projects so that they could prioritise them. Ajax Workspace could do that with just a simple click.
The school has involved all those in the activities, namely the teachers, the parents, some local council members and some local residents as the users to Ajax Workspace. These users have different access level and could choose to view information in categories related to them. With the implementation of this new measure, the school cut down the letters and paperwork sizably and achieved immediate cost saving.
Ajax Workspace also provides an unprecedented feature of News and Headlines Board for timely announcements. The parents and members are the main beneficiaries because they now could access the website and check out the information as and when possible. Subsequent to this, the school is able to reduce the number of meetings required before the events.
As for the teachers and the administrators, they are no longer handling a small part of multiple projects. Instead, they could take on a bigger role of fewer projects while the Ajax Workspace project manager focused on coordinating and planning activities. Through better planning, each one has much better focus on their projects.
The school year is coming to an end in few months. Encouraged by the success of Ajax Workspace, the school management is thinking of running its fund raising activities through Ajax Workspace. In other words, the school would line up the activities at the beginning of the year and ensure the effort is well spread towards different target groups instead of concentrating on the same.

It's a much healthier and better working environment for the teachers and parents. From the school management perspective, the activities planned for are more realistic and achievable. For parents and residents who are not part of the school system, they could access to information readily available and contribute their efforts. It's time saving and it's convenient.
